Members: Ross Golan, Tommy Walter, Daniel James, Joey Clement
GLACIER HIKING began as the hybrid of vocalist/melody maker Ross Golan and guitarist/wunderkind Tommy Walter (Abandoned Pools/Eels). The extensive vocabulary and melodic sensibility of Golan and the tremendous compositional skill of Walter resulted in the infectious, anthemic, inimitable tunes that the band has become known for.
With the recently added rhythm section of Joey Clement on bass and Daniel James on drums, the Glacier Hiking live show has come to a whole new level. Entire crowds dance and sing loud enough that Golan could use them as a teleprompter should he ever forget lyrics.
The early support of OneRepublic singer Ryan Tedder (guest vocalist on the new EP) and early raves by taste makers such as Kevin Bronson of the LA Times and Buzz Bands ( electro-crash synth-rock, glam and emo-punk with the wires all crossed)
has helped Glacier Hiking fill clubs across Los Angeles to capacity.
The Color By Number EP was recently released through iTunes
as well as the new age DYI platform, Topspin
. The band is also planning four EP releases in a year as apposed to the more traditional cycle of one album every two years.
