The band is born in the middle of the 90's in Arras, somewhere in the northern France. After a plenty of demo tapes and cds, the band recorded their very first EP cd in 1999 released on the now well known indie rock French label Buzz Off Records. The band is always on the run and plays a lot in France, Belgium, Holland, England and Canada. The first full length album ("Amber Gambler") was released in march 2003 and distributed in France through Mosaic Music Distribution, Final Records and Slam Disques in Quebec, A Call For Unity Distro in The Netherlands. The band gets a lot of good feedback in the press and in the webzines who salute the good surprise and the good quality of "Amber Gambler". Gingerbread is a power pop band influenced by Indie US College Rock (from The Posies to Lemonheads, from Buffalo Tom to Sonic Youth...) and in the vein of bands like The Get Up Kids, Favez, Jimmy Eat World, Leiah, The Ataris and Samiam.
