Gardenias


Spanish rock band Gardenias was formed by Alejandro Pinilla and David Guerra who wanted to bring original and innovative Spanish rock to the rapidly growing Hispanic community in Toronto. The poetic lyrics and memorable melodies that Alejandro writes are given added depth thanks to Davids catchy and unique arrangements. The talent of these two Chileans has been rapidly recognized and celebrated by the Toronto Latin rock community as well as in their native Chile.

Gardenias recently worked with Canadian producer Pat Riccio Jr. to create their first EP. The Emergenza festival has been the perfect opportunity for Gardenias to promote their CD and their recent advancement to the semi-finals is a clear indication of the bands popularity within not only the Spanish community, but the English speaking music scene as well. The band has actively promoted their album on numerous Spanish radio shows as well as on the Torontohispano.com on-line radio. Alejandro has also been able to promote the CD in Chile on a recent trip.

Gardenias is well on its way to achieving its goals. By combining classic rock instruments with native South American instruments such as the charango, Gardenias has piqued the interest of the Toronto rock community. Gardenias recently organized a very successful Latin rock night in Toronto to increase awareness of the talent within the community. Gardenias recognizes the need for a fresh face in the world of Latin rock and will not rest until that need is satisfied.
