What does Fy mean? Fy is bold, daring, honest. Fy means having the audacity to look adversity in the eye; utter refusal to lay down and the strength to never give up. Its not about limiting ourselves with labels. Its not about going with the flow. But instead, about having the courage and determination to stand up and fight for what you believe in until the last breath, until the last tremor of muscle is spent. Fy is about embracing change and not being afraid to take risks. It's about doing your own thing and not caring what others think. Its that singular vision that has allowed Fy to hone its craft and perpetually reinvent itself.
The thirst to create is never stronger than after a show where fans are singing along to the epic You Never Thought. Harresons introspective lyrics captivate the audience while the devastation imparted by Trevors string arsenal, held in tandem with Shauns thundering drums and Kurtiss hammering bass, reminds them of gravity and consequence. Songs like "Fall Down" and the title track "Above Ground" showcase some of the band's most aggressive songwriting while "Tribal" and "Pieces" demonstrate a more melodic side.
