Summertime... and the livin's easy

So summer is fast approaching... which means it's almost recording season.

But first a little history of the band.

Funkier Than Superman started in about 1999 when Noah picked up his first guitar and began jamming with Nick, who had been playing bass for about a year. They were terrible. But, they were a band. After about a year of jamming, they decided to enlist the vocal talents of their friend Rick. They were still pretty terrible, but they were having a blast and soon began writing songs about masturbation. Soon after, the band decided it needed rhythm and recruited their Hispanic friend Tim. Tim quit after a very small amount of time because he preferred the life of a forest ranger. By this time it was sophomore year of high school, and the band was having little luck finding a drummer. Rick found that his heart really wasnt into the whole band thing and decided to quit. Determined to keep the band going, Noah discovered the vocal and songwriting talents of Christian and the rhythm guitar stylings of Leven, and the band was again a foursome. Late in sophomore year FTS, which was currently called A Turtle Named Mac, recruited a drummer named Dan. Unfortunately the band had to kill him because he wanted to name the band The Dan Shibly Experience. The band found drummer Owen in junior year of high school, and renamed themselves Funkier Than Superman. They have been developing their love for funk, rock, jazz, and music in general ever since.

Upon graduating in 2004, the band moved to the four corners of the universe. Nick and Christian are currently attending college in Maryland, Noah in California, Leven in Indiana, and Owen in North Carolina. Reconvening to record during holidays and breaks, Funkier Than Superman continues to keep the funk alive.

So yeah we have a bunch of new material and are still in the writing phase. The plan is to have some pretty polished recordings out by the end of summer (hopefully August). Well also try to get some band photos and all sorts of neat stuff up to appease our increasing number of fans. Thanks for listening.
