From The Ashes is based out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Brothers Frank (guitar) and Angel (drums) Hernandez from Sunrise Florida hooked up with Ft. Lauderdale bass player Haas. The three played together for several months until vocalist/lead guitarist Matthew Wilkof joined the line-up in the Spring of 2004. The band's music spans from aggressive and chaotic to reflecting and melodic. Wilkof's vocal style range is intense and powerful yet he incorporates melodic phrasing to add a uniqe edge to the music. The From The Ashes sound is also characterized by the distincive drum and bass combination of Angel and Haas. With intricate and solid drumming and grinding bass lines the band is held together with an awe inspiring tightness. Adding to the music is the dual guitar team of Wilkof and Frank who create a wall of sound which drive the music into a new level. From The Ashes live show is one of the most energetic and entertaining in the South Florida area. From The Ashes is band that is sure to put Ft. Lauderdale on the map for spawning a successful metal act.
