Since their formation in 2004, the members of Foxy are looking to be the Evel Knievel of rock n roll. Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, the members of FOXY ShazamEric Nally (vocals), Loren Turner (guitar), Daisy (bass), Sky White (piano), and Joe Halberstadt (drums)will release Introducing FOXY, their second album since the independent release of The Flamingo Trigger (2005).
Written and recorded over an eight month span and completed in early 2005, The Flamingo Trigger is a timeline of the bands growth; over the span of eight months you can hear the difference between earlier songs like no don't shoot with french passion of animality opera. Turner adds, The Flamingo Trigger sounds like a very young band on their way to finding their sound.
After the release of The Flamingo Trigger, FOXY began to navigate its way across North America to deliver its sonic creation along with a live show experience that leaves viewers never wanting to blink for fear of what stage antics they may miss. While performing over two hundred shows within a span of eighteen months, the word of mouth began to spread catching the attention of many, including The Number Twelve Looks Like You's front man and partner of Piermont Management, Jesse Korman.
Starting in January 07 FOXY became the first artist to join Piermont Management based out of Allendale, New Jersey. FOXY believes joining Piermont was the right choice because of their work ethics understanding of who we are and what we want to accomplishwithout them, we wouldnt have what we have happening for us now.
FOXY Shazam entered the studio with producer Casey Bates (Chiodos, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, This Providence) in August, to began work on their second full-length album entitled Introducing FOXY, which is scheduled to be released in early 2008 off New Weathermen, an imprint of Ferret Music. It is a huge evolution from Flamingo Trigger, but the best parts are still there the catchy soulful vocals, thundering guitar rifts, signature piano melodies. Introducing FOXY still has a lot of the experimental elements as The Flamingo Trigger did, but our sound has become more focused, given the fact that we have had two years of playing with each other, says Nally. As a whole, we want this record to be as real and honest as possible.
Joining the new label allows the band to become a part of something larger, to grow even more as artists and as a group. Turner concludes, Together, I will say that this band has overcome things that would break up most early bands. We just kept pushing and never gave up on our dreams.
