Nyack, NY-based band Forman flaunts an eclectic musical dynamic not typically heard in modern rock. The music is rooted in the spirit of the cerebral, composition-heavy nature of 1970's progressive rock, filtered through the lens of vocal-based modern indie, and tied together by a subtle pulsing undercurrent of an ethnic African and Latin foundation. The music is always driving and forceful, but contains a rich tapestry of dynamics and textures woven into cohesive songs crafted under perfectionists' scrutiny.

In their 5-year history they have hit such reputable venues as the Bitter End (NYC), Sullivan Hall (NYC), the Stone Pony (Asbury Park, NJ), Northern Lights (Clifton Park, NY), the Turning Point (Piermont, NY), and Nectar's (Burlington, VT); and they have shared the stage with notable artists such as Blues Traveler, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, and Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors. On July 1, 2011 they released their second album "Day Of Delta," a concept album about digging for truth, making change, and progressing forward. The 6 songs are wildly different in their stylistic presentation and production, but each serve as an essential puzzle piece in the overall theme of the album, flowing seamlessly from the first ethereal sound effect to the hard-rock climax of the last track.

"Day of Delta" is a snapshot of a band in constant metamorphosis. They faced new challenges during the writing process: they lost their original bassist of 4 years; they lived scattered across New York and had to travel 100 miles to rehearse; and each member was a working musician caught in the middle of the economic downturn. Their first album, 2008's "Balance," was a feel-good, hyperactive romp through myriad genres, but as their stability as humans and as a band waned, the music began reflecting the dark catharsis happening in their lives. For the first time, the new songs were borne out of honest frustration, and they became more inspired then ever before. The word "delta" describes the possible variations in an equation - they realized their true artistry grew most naturally when the "equation" of their lives was in the midst of dramatic change. This is their day of delta. Embrace it and let it change you.
