The Basics

For Honor and Glory is a smalltown band out of Harvard/Woodstock Illinois. We strive for the melodies that hit you hard and the lyrics that you can relate to on the deepest levels.

Our talent consists of:

Paul on Lead Guitar and Vocals - Showing talent and interest in guitar and bands at an early age, Paul has the heart of a front-man as he emotionally brings out the core of every song and note he sings.

Kevin on Rhythm Guitar - This artist's musical queue mainly consists of either real mellow or real hardcore music. His style of play is extremely rare as he can bring out the best of the best in a song in just a few short minutes.

Rob on Drums - Originally in a band unofficially entitled Ten After Two (formally FuManchu) This drummer's been interested in drumming for over a decade and with a strong interest in production and mixing is able to act as the studio junkie as well.

The band's sound is an interesting combination. The drums hit you hard with a feeling you'd get in a punk or emotionally charged rock song. The lead guitar screams indie, the type you'd expect to hear in a Killer's song or Death Cab For Cutie. Finally the rhythm guitar brings it all home with a sometimes psychedelic half metal sound that acts as the string to tie it all together.

The Set

We're currently in the process of getting our raw recordings re-recorded to perfection. We have three total songs recorded but somewhere around 10 waiting on deck. You'll see two on our PUREVOLUME as well as two on our MYSPACE. They are as follows.

This song will always have a spot in all our hearts being our first one. Seen as our "single" from fans around school, we performed this one at our first show in our school. Written and performed around a time when we all felt we were enduring relationship issues it really hits home for us and we hope, as we do with all our songs, it hits you as well. We feel like this one has a down to earth feel that a lot of people will be able to relate to.

Though a little off tempo in parts, this was a cool feeling. We wrote and recorded the song in just a few short hours performing it for whoever we could whenever we could. This song is essentially about a guy who falls for a girl who he later realizes isn't all he thought she was. The meaning is apparent as Paul bellows: "She led me to believe it all. I didn't want to fall. I'm not the only one. If I knew what she had in mind, what I was to find, I wouldn't have jumped at all..."

Ask any of the three of us, this was a long time coming. We tossed around this idea a billion times before finally acting on it. This was a cool feat for Rob (The mixer and producer of the songs) because he was able to record Paul twice and dub him in on backup and secondary chorus. The lyrics scream desperation and defeat as they so obviously relate to a person who's just simply falling apart. "Cab driver, cab driver: Please pull over to the right. I've got some things to look over in my life..."
