"Reading history books is just for those who could never write their own."
For the past four years, FIVE CENT WING has been winning over crowds in North Carolina with its blend of pop and rock, mixing the soaring guitar solos of AC/DC and Rush with the pop sensibilities of Jimmy Eat World and the The Ataris.
Five Cent Wing was birthed into the North Carolina rock scene in 2004 and has had the privilege to share the stage with: THE SECRET HANDSHAKE (Triple Crown), SULLIVAN (Tooth & Nail), ANNUALS (Sony), MERCY MERCEDES (The Militia Group), BREATHE CAROLINA (Rise), THE MORNING OF (Tragic Hero), WILLIAM TELL (Universal) and NEW YEARS DAY (TVT).
Fall in Love with Fiction, the bands newest release (and third overall), finds the group furthering the pop/rock blend it developed earlier in its career, as well as exploring new sounds. "Pillaging Your Villaging "combines fist pumping gang vocals with a rip-roaring guitar solo, while "Who I Am Tonight" is a tailor-made pop hit-to-be.
Throughout the course of the five song EP, the band takes listeners on a journey of emotional highs and lows. As soon as the opening track, "Dear Tonight...," kicks in, you know what kind of assertion the band wants to make; the song sums up the band's mission statement in its first line: "Dear tonight, its only you and me with our fingers crossed as we chase our dreams."
