Ruined Shoes and New Transportation

blog post

Hello everyone!  We're sitting in FL preparing to leave again in a couple of days and thought we'd give you an update on what's going on with us.

We've been playing some festivals already this  year (hence the ruined shoes title) and i have to say this is one of the muddiest years for us.  On two separate occasions i've been walking through mud up to my ankles, requiring me to wash them, one lost it's insole, and because of the moisture it smells pretty bad.  So once i get my other pair, it's goodbye to that pair.  I'll get to that in a second.
We've been playing mostly festivals this summer so far as we're writing a new record right now and during the week has been dedicated to coming up with new songs and trying to get them really good before we record them.  Who wants bad songs, right? We don't, you don't, and our label DEFINITELY doesn't, hahaha.  So far we've done Agape (muddy and awesome), Atlantafest (SOOOOO hot and delicious Chick Fil A), Alive (muddy and fun), some theme parks, Ichthus (LOVE this festival) and several others.  Everyone has been so good to us and we've really enjoyed seeing so many of you already this summer.  We have quite a few more coming up like Sonshine, Rock the River, and a ton more, so hopefully we'll see those of you we haven't seen yet at those festivals.
So, the new transportation thing...yeah...we got it...the BUS!!!!  Finally, after years of saving, your donations and prayers, OUR prayers and searching we've found ourselves a tour bus.  You can see the picture i snapped of it on the new tour bus fund link.  It's a good looking monster and we're very very excited and thankful for it.  We KNOW that we could have never done this without all of you, so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Some of you may be wondering if we still need help with it, and the answer is yes we do.  We're doing our best to pay for everything we need for touring and not carry any debt, and God has really helped us with that by allowing us to eliminate a lot in the last two years.  So if you feel like you want to help out more, we'd really appreciate it.
Also, to touch back on the shoes thing, to explain that.  We have a set of rules in the bunk area to keep it nice...smelling nice specifically, we have a rule that if your shoes stink, either put them in a bay (beneath the bus) or destroy them.  Mine may fall under the destroy clause.  However, if they're not absolutely terrible, i'll give them to goodwill or something, cause someone else can surely use them. :)
One last thing:  We really would appreciate your prayers.  As we're writing a new record, the attacks on us have increased.  It happened the last time, when we were writing Unbreakable, and Satan's already trying to remove our focus from us.  Our prayer request from you is that you please pray for us as individuals from attacks, and as a band that we can not be swayed from His plan for us.  We know that He has us in this position to reach a lot of people, and we want each of the songs that make it to our new record covered in prayer so that God can continue to use us to get His message out, not our own.
thanks for reading and stay tune for a new video blog, coming VERY soon. :)
Justin
