Day one, weekend one of Coachella 2012 offered the masses a rainy welcome — and surprisingly cold temperatures considering it’s taking place in the middle of the desert. While the lines for hot beverages surpassed those for beer, and bikini-clad concert goers were forced into sweatshirts, the party was far from ruined. The day saw performances from Jarvis Cocker, Pulp, The Arctic Monkeys, and Madness, Tyler The Creator popped on stage during Frank Ocean‘s set to offer a surprise cameo, and the night ended with The Black Keys‘ highly-anticipated, headlining performance. There’s also something to be said for the crowds, who never fail to provide a good source of entertainment in dress and action — some dude wore a leopard print, full-body suit [so not kidding] and another group of friends sported hand-made, “Weekend 1″ t-shirts, boasting the names of their most anticipated acts on the back. There’s plenty more recaps where those came from, and they’ve even been listed in fun categorizations, so read them in full at Idolator.
