The formation of Fennec Fox wasn't something any of us anticipated. Peter had only played guitar for a year, never touching a bass in his life; and John, with a single year of piano lessons, had barely tapped into the mystery of the black and white keys. James too, the future drummer of the band, had no experience with percussion (excluding his ability to pound on the dashboard and steering wheel while driving, which he did so well that real drum playing took some getting used to). It was Bob alone who actually knew how to play his guitar; and on him, we formed as "Bob and Us". We later changed the name to "Fennec Fox" because we were so intrigued with the desert foxes unique features. Although it made no sense to name our band this, the name stuck. Besides, rock and roll isn't supposed to make sense. Thats what makes it fun.
Fennec Fox continues to work on their first album, drafted (so far) as, "Songs of Depression" for Johns sentimental, dismal themes. Often compared to as Lameplay, John continues to write, hoping desperately that Bob, Pete and James will accept his music without kicking him out as Peter has so often threatened.
