Fell began life as a series of four-track tapes culled from the surplus of Josh Wambeke's experimental demos - odds and ends deemed unsuitable for inclusion in the Phineas Gage repertoire due to their heavy usage of electronics and drum machines. In the beginning of 2001 Wambeke purchased recording gear in the attempt to create a full length LP. The album was written and recorded by Josh Wambeke, along with Michael Dewey on bass/guitar, and Josh Cedillo on drums. After almost 2 years of sessions, and by the end of 2003 their first album was complete, and in early 2006 it was eventually released by Australian psychedelic imprint Camera Obscura Records. With its swirling textures and dismal mood, the album was well liked and critcally acclaimed by many. In late 2006 the band introduced bassist Bryan Romero to the line up which spawned a handful of successful live shows, but Fell eventually parted ways with Cedillo and Dewey took a brief hiatus. In early 2007 remaining band members Wambeke and Romero set out to finish a follow-up record that Wambeke had been working on. During this period Fell played various shows locally with many different drummers; including Wambeke's longtime collaborator in Phineas Gage, Patrick Porter. Eventually after months of recycling through band members, Fell was joined by local drummer E.J. Ulery, longtime friend and collaborator Bryan Lee(guitar and keys), and were also reunited with Michael Dewey(cello/guitar). Finally in late 2007 Fell completed the recordings for their follow up album entitled Incoherent Lullabies. Lately the band has been busy with shows and plenty of recording...out soon will be a third record entitled A Farewell To Echoes in addition to the Silent Goodbyes vinyl ep.
