Musicians have all sorts of creative tricks for helping their music and their band gain the attention it deserves, whether its constantly flyering, working up a frenzy on MySpace or playing impromptu acoustic sets whenever the mood strikes, but Manteno, ILs Feature Presentation maybe can top them all.

We have put flyers in every pair of pants pockets in JC Penny at our local mall, says singer and guitarist Josh Lamore, who first started the band when he was mere seventh-grader with a simple love of music. We very recently started playing basement shows in fans basements for a few dollar donation to all the attendees of the show. One time we even played in front of a McDonalds.

This constant perseverance and dedication is now beginning to draw the band into the spotlight with the groups current lineup, which crystallized in October of 2005 after several lineup changes since Lamores junior high days. The groups strikingly memorable debut album, To You, the Past and the Questions Left Unanswered, reveals not only their history and long period of hard work but also an optimistic uncertainty about their future, with songs dating all the way back to shortly after the bands inception side by side with songs written in the past few years.

Recorded over the span of a month in the fall of 2006 with producer Enoch Jenson (Kaddisfly, Amber Pacific, The Number 12 Looks Like You), who helped the band members reach their potential as musicians, the record resounds with a genuine adoration of music, combining soaring guitars, a propulsive rhythm section and Lamores urgent vocals. Opener Matts Song immediately reveals the groups introspective side, infusing Lamores voice with a palpable ache and explore ballad-like heights with the music, while February offers a more rollicking, hook-laden aesthetic, chock full of sing-a-long choruses and radio-ready guitar riffs. I Wonder follows suit, combining pop-rock guitars, driving beats and a strikingly memorable melody that will surely glue fingers to the repeat button.

Equipped with a sensational album, years of amassed experience and a staggeringly positive attitude, Feature Presentation brings fresh perspective to the music scene with their songwriting and the messages they hope to portray, evidencing that any challenge is surmountable with the right outlook. We try to be a positive influence, Lamore says of both the music and the band itself. We just want people to feel good from the songs. We want them to relate to them in all their different situations and circumstances. It feels positive- the sound and momentum of the songs make it feel positive.

Based out of a small town of only 8,000 people just south of Chicago, Feature Presentation is now poised to join the ranks of stellar, beloved Illinois bands like Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is who have taken the world by storm as of late. And perhaps Feature Presentation will do it with something beyond just the music itself. By the time this band has torn the stage apart you will need to sit down, Lamore says. Consider this a dare to find out if hes right.
