Fear The Fall began life as Independent Thought, a hard working rock act out of Northern Berkshire County, MA and Windsor Locks, CT. Started in the fall of 2002 by long time friends Corey Troop, John Nassif, and Jon Girard, the band worked aggressively throughout the Winter of 2003 with friend and drummer Shaun Richard in order to self-record and produce their demo. "Balancing Act", as the demo was dubbed, fit the band well as the struggled to balance their school and work lives with that of their dreams of becoming full-fledged musicians. The demo was well recieved as it was available for free at many of the small shows the band would play over the course of Summer 2003. During this time, Arron Christensen joined that band to round out it's sound, helping land the band a slot in the Got Milk? Battle of the Bands in Springfield, MA, where they placed second.
Trouble fell on the group shortly after, as drummer Shaun Richard opted to leave the band over personal differences with his fellow bandmates. The four remaining members trudged on, auditioning with several drummers. Unfortunately, to this day they have yet to find a permanent replacement who gels as well with them as Richard once did.
Today, the band is known as Fear The Fall and they are busy putting the finishing touches on a number of songs which they hope to release as a second demo. Having retired both the name Independent Thought and the songs associated with it, they look forward to starting again and winning the hearts of fans across the nation.
