There are a few classis situations that can cause a band to cease like an '82 Buick in the desert: a Yoko-like girlfriend, major money problems, or the inevitable split when band members go off their separate directions to college.

Fortunately for us, Phil and Jordan continued writing songs instead of pawning their gear after the collegiate move and demise of their first small town Wisconsin band. And a new home base in Minneapolis proved quite beneficial; prominent local bands and members in this bigger city gave the guys the necessary nudging, a push out of the nest so-to-speak, to develop their wings and fly.

After making a demo with Tommy (Small Towns) and Steve (Everest) helping out, it wasn't long until a full line-up came into place. Nate's harmonies and vocal trade-offs clicked with Jordan's voice right away. Victor's leads flowed and ebbed perfectly with Phil's steady, anchoring rhythm guitar. And Frankie pushed the songs forward with a strong backbeat.

With the sound becoming more refined and finally taking on the life of a fully realized band, it was time to work with a legitimate producer. Friends made phone calls, emails were sent, demos were mailed, and before they knew it, The Fast Track was in the studio with Jamie Woolford producing (Punchline, The Stereo, Gin Blossoms, The Format) and Jeremy Tappero (Attention, Gratitude, Motion City Soundtrack, Cadillac Blindside) engineering. This teaming resulted in a great e.p. that rocks instead of sounding like the synthetic auto-everything recordings being released by their contemporaries.

With the new e.p., a touring vehicle, and a love for playing rock and roll exceeding all other things in life, the sky's the limit for The Fast Track.
