Members: Will, Jason, Luke, Tommy, Andrew
Initially formed in 2002, Far From Ruin solidified its line-up in 2004, following turbulence and member changes. With honesty and passion as their driving force, this Canadian hardcore band plays music influenced by contemporary hardcore groups, such as Comeback Kid, The Promise, Figure Four, Terror, 100 Demons and Killing The Dream. Their upcoming premiere EP "What Runs Between Us" to be released on Lonely Tree Records proves to be a testament of what the band believes in: sincerity, compassion, friendship and growth. Fusing devastating heaviness and heart-felt melodies, FFR creates hardcore music that is undeniably true to its roots, while avoiding falling prey to watered-down trends within the scene.
Having played with up and coming bands such as Blue Monday, Radical Attack, Every New Day, Too Pure To Die, as well as heavy weights Bury Your Dead, Misery Signals, Figure Four, Comeback Kid and Raised Fist, FFR's live show can be described as uplifting and energetic. Apart from playing locally, FFR hit the road in the summer of 2004, playing extensive dates on a full Western Canadian tour with their friends in the amazing Winnipeg hardcore outfit Hollow Ground. Far From Ruins dedicated work ethic and love for hardcore and its message will drive them to go all the way as the band plans to tour relentlessly in 2005.
