Punk, punk, punk, punk! Well, thats what I thought of the band Face, when I was asked to review their new digital EP, Face the Fireflies. The new indie/acoustic project from Jay Kellom, is on the other end of the spectrum from hes usual, fast, technical, punk band, Guff. A nice blend of indie, classic country, folk, and western swing, leaves a nice after taste of flavor in your ears. With humble guitar sounds, and heartfelt drumming, Jay layers the tunes with hes tender voice, singing of love, life, death, and heart ache. And they all hit home. True, many have tasted from the singer songwriter acoustic glass, but Face brings new elements to the drink. Elements that will have you craving their songs over and over again.
