By the 1900's, slave labor was abolished in almost all countries. This ended the long-distance migrations forced upon the Africans. Before the 1800's, Africans where sent along the middle passage into the Americas and the Carribean, where they would be forced to produce crops such as sugarcane and tobacco to be sent back to “The Old World”. Africans were treated with great disrespect due to them being seen as inferior. Even after slave labor was abolished, Africans were still considered to have no rights. Their lives improved slightly but they were still attacked by racism and ridicule. Despite this, the Africans where given the opportunity to migrate back to other lands.>>>>> Throughout history, the greed and gluttony of Europeans drove them to many nations in order to exploit them to gain resources and land. The Dutch established a colony in South Africa in order to gain the resources the land had to offer, in this colony, Boers (the farmers in this Dutch/African colony) industrialized the land by building railways that made extracting the natural resources from the land a lot easier, this also occurred in other parts of the world.>>>>> Since the beginning of history, people have migrated long-distances for many of the reasons stated above.
