Eva Anexora hail from upstate NY. Their sound is inspired by all elements of life and music, from the slow drawl intensity of Isis/Neurosis to the dramatic build up of Godspeed You Black Emperor! to the unadulterated energy of Tool/Deftones. Their style comes across as a strangely unique blend of these sounds. They have shown no restraint in experimentation with song structure and sonic layering. Crunching guitar, inspiring melodies, technical rhythms, running basslines, classical piano, organic synth - you will hear all of these elements within the band, sometimes all at once.

Original members Charlie Mieczkowski, Garrett Wensel and Luke Sweet founded Eva Anexora in 2000. They played locally as a jam band and recorded the Pilot Celestial demo in late 2003. Pianist/vocalist Jeremy Soto heard the demo while living with a friend in NYC. He applied his unique voice and piano/string textures to this early demo and sent it back to Corning. Jeremy joined the band and they set out to NYC late in 2004 to record a full-length album a project that was later stifled due to difficulties between the engineer and studio. This weighed heavy on the bands progress. They took a 1-year hiatus before Charlie and Luke started jamming with bassist Abe Smith, a roommate at Fredonia State University. Upon returning to Corning, Garrett rejoined on guitar/electronics. They recorded an EP length demo in March 2007 comprised of new and old material and are looking to distribute this, as well as play a series of shows in and around NY state.

The Stasis demo was written, arranged, produced, recorded, mixed and engineered completely within the band. Originally a 30 minute demo, it has been reduced in length to about 18 minutes. We feel these pieces provide a more concise example of what we do and what we are capable of as a band.
