Growing up in small-town, upstate New York, Eric Anderson fell in love with music at the tender age of 4. Coming home ever Sunday in the back of a red 88 Suburban, bouncing and singing along to each and every church song he heard. Looking back he apologizes to his father who had to get up late Sunday nights and pound on the wall, 'yes! We know Jesus loves you! Now shut the hell up.' Eric even went as far as to drag a cassette player (it was the 90s ok) and crank up the Beach Boys in the bathroom for shower time.

It wasnt long before middle school requirements pushed Eric into chorus, which is where all the cool kids hung out. Moving up in life, Eric picked up the clarinet, again all the cool kids played woodwinds. But the clarinet sucks and he quit telling his teacher, 'Im learning the guitar,' which was complete bullshit. Some years later he was playing some covers in a bar and that same music teacher was there, ha.

Eric soon befriended young Brian Thibodeau, who taught Eric the ways of rockin. And so the Eric & Stubbs Show was formed. Clad with a sweet name, they tore up the local bars with Clapton, DMB, and Sublime covers. But the two went off to college, to learn and be broke. They did manage to meet up and make a few benjamins, ok, jacksons, every now and again.

College. Drama. Heartache. Yes.

Eric writes for the release, for an escape from himself. It isnt about wearing his heart on his sleeve, or the lows of love lost. It is a letting-go, a deep breath. His lyrics are stories of life, places that most everyone has been at sometime. His songs are of fear and triumph, emotion and trust. Maybe we are not proud of what weve said or done, but it is what lead us to who and where we are now. Erics lyrics are evidence of his acceptance that hes along for the ride, but not necessarily behind the wheel.
