Meaning:
Empyrean, from the Medieval Latin empyreus, an adaptation of the Ancient Greek, "in or on the fire (pyr)", properly Empyrean Heaven, is the place in the highest heaven, which in ancient cosmologies was supposed to be occupied by the element of fire (or aether in Aristotle's natural philosophy).
Vision Statement:
Empyreal Records is the long awaited project of Joseph Beaulieu. Started in 2005 on nickels and dimes, Joseph sought out artists whose music evoked passion. After viewing the famous Gustav painting interpreting Dante's "Empyrean Sun", he decided that the image embodied what he wanted the music to invoke. Staring into the larger picture with no sense of self, merely a sense of your surroundings. Being caught up , albeit; swept up in all without a way to fight the tide coming from within oneself.
Seeking likewise to have a very personal connection to everything the label put out, local artists as well as the band member's themselves were asked to lend their talents in the visual arts. To create an aesthetic that would incorporate the feelings of compassion shared within the music to a visual perspective from that same community.
It is our opinion that good music thrives, and is born from good people.
