Like a contemporary version of The Police, Element 57 plays Rock that you can sink your teeth into.
ELEMENT57 is the brain child of New York born singer/songwriter, Chris Galyon. After 7 years as the front man for Portlands nationally acclaimed DIY band- 4th Plane Jaiant, Galyon felt it was time to re-visit his rock roots, turn up the Marshall stack and press record. With a truly unique sound & hook-drenched melodies, Element57 seems to rock where few are able to follow.
Our sound is in the vein of The Police & Pearl Jam with a modern edge to it. Its big & dreamy stadium rock. says Galyon (Guitar/Vocals).
The band has recently released their debut EP, Radiate to rave reviews and accolade. Youll find yourself sinking deeper into each eloquent layer with every listen. It is some of the most memorable music youll run into. The vocals sound like Peter Gabriel or Sting. Theyve created a wall of sound between the guitar and electronic sax that is out of this world! Element57 has forged a new rock sound for music fans who wont be disappointed.-Independent Weekly
In addition to glowing press reviews, E57 just took home the Independent Music Award 2006(The Music Group) for best hard rock/rock song with Woke Up Late, the 1st track off Radiate. Judges for the award included Aerosmiths Joe Perry, Melissa Ethridge, Bill Wyman, George Clinton and a host of other notable artists. The only thing that separates these fine artists and their music from multi-platinum recording artists is access to major market promotion outlets raves Martin Folkman, founder of the Awards in 2000. In 2005 Freedom (Radiate) was featured by New Future Records, a New York label to be included on a sampler disc distributed throughout the music industry and reputable media outlets. In Jan. 2004, Speak So Loud landed on Indie-Music Vol. 1 nationally distributed by Arizona promotion wizards, Black Dog Productions.
Currently, Element57 is back in the studio recording a full-length follow up to Radiate as well as playing regional showsa recent review in Two Louies (Portland, OR) of 20 Minutes the bands upcoming single- The lyrics could stand alone, but crushing guitars and fully carborated vocals consume you.
Helping fill out the talented 5-piece are Jason Wilbur (Wind Synth/Sax), Andy Kallenberger (Bass), and Joe Gardner (Drums), all of whom boast impressive musical resumes.
The band, under their previous name, 4th Plane Jaiant, built a 7 year legacy with two albums, Tideline (1998) and Bipolar (2001), airplay on over 70 college radio stations & thousands of fans from Colorado to the Pacific Coast.
