After paying their dues in basements, bars, and even horse barns across Northeast Pennsylvania and Upstate New York and armed with their newest EP, titled Shipwrecks and Silhouettes, EAST BAY VIEW is taking it to the next level. Founded in the last months of 2005 by cousins Patrick and Brandon, The band grew through several lineup changes, countless shows, demos, and practices throughout the next year.
The band recorded an untitled EP in the fall of 2007, which quickly gained them new fans and more buzz around the Northeast. In 2008, the band signed with local label Nowhere, PA records, and teamed up with producer Ed Luecke and Engineer Dave Rice of Basement Audio to record their debut professional EP, Shipwrecks and Silhouettes, as well as performing shows across all parts of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The end of 2008 has brought many opportunities for the band, as they continue to spread their music through the internet, their energetic live shows, and word of mouth. Already, several songs off of Shipwrecks and Silhouettes are being played on college radio stations throughout PA and NY. Along with radio exposure, the band has been featured on Absolutepunk.net, gained a clothing sponsorship from Grey Area Clothing, and is about to have their new EP released digitally through iTunes and Amazon.com. The band plans to continue performing and bringing their brand of pop-punk and alternative rock to new places and people for as long as their fans want to hear them.
