I tend to agree with the man. Some days I mourn my lack of a defined sound. Some days I relish it. I think if you ask most artists the question "Who do you sound like?" they'll cock their head and stare at the sky, like they're trying to remember an old high school locker combination (stole that from David Sedaris). Who wants to sound like somebody else? And even if you do, who wants to admit it? Maybe I sound new to you. Maybe I sound tired and passe. I just want to make the best music I can. If that's a pop tune, great. If that's an 18-minute dumbek and harpsichord duet, then so be it.

I've been performing since I was 17, and so far I've tried my hand at rock, pop, country, folk, jazz, and probably some other genres. I discovered you can break down all these genres into sub-genres, and then you've got your sub-sub-genres, like neo-folk classical emo goth pop. It's all just music, though.

If you're into discovering new kinds of music, then you may be interested in my stuff. I'm going to keep trying my hand at whatever style I'm into that particular day. I'm going to keep doing different things at my live shows, so come check me out if you want to be surprised.

I've got a live album coming out in March called What I Thought. The above songs will be on the record, along with some others. We recorded it live at Dunn Bros. Coffee in Addison, TX. I'll be doing more heavy touring in the future, so look for me in your neck of the woods.
