The Duct Tape Heroes know how to work hard. Surely, youve read this in many cut-and-paste band bios. But, in the case of the Duct Tape Heroes, such a description could even be called an understatement. Since their formation in 2003, the Duct Tape Heroes have written and recorded two full-length albums, played at festivals and venues across the upper Midwest, booked (themselves) and played a three week, four state tour in 2006, earned a spot on the Ernie Ball stage on the Vans Warped Tour stop in Milwaukee, WI, all while being full time students at Viterbo University, playing varsity sports in college, singing in university and local choirs, holding down part-time jobs, and somehow finding time for girlfriends and family.
All that hard work pays off though when they take the stage to do what they love doing more than anything elseperforming their up-tempo, hook-happy, make-you-wanna sing along pop-punk melodies in front of a packed room of screaming fans.
For the Duct Tape Heroes though, music is more than just music and fans and this is what drives them to write and compose tirelessly, trying to create more than just another soulless pop song. Music can change the course of a persons day; music can change lives; and music can even save lives. Music can make the world a better place.
The Duct Tape Heroes dont write the most complex or most difficult music, but they do write songs that people can relate to and will come back to over and over again simply because they cannot get enough of it. They also will rock your pants off. A Duct Tape Heroes live show is an emotional rollercoaster. Get pissed, get happy, go ahead and cry if you want, its all happened before when the Heroes have the stage.

"Out of nowhere, this La Crosse, WI-based punk band delivers anything but standard punk farea blend of punk and rock that could hardly be considered a joke. When it comes to introspective, heart-wrenching topics, the Heroes are a force to be reckoned with." Alternative Sounds Magazine, University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

The standard punk and emo subject matter was revitalized by the group's tight, professional sound and sense of showmanship. Shiek's bass took a central role with punchy solos and pretty, arpeggiated intros, but the strongest element of the music was lead singer and guitarist Dustin Oldenburg's expressive vocals Manitou Messenger, St. Olaf College
