Hi, my name is Steve. I was born and raised in the suburban sprawl wasteland of DuPage County, Illinois- but didn't start writing songs until the fall 0f 2001 I headed down to college in Columbia, Missouri. I've been unleashing my brand of singer-songwriter crap-core upon the world ever since. I'm now based in Tallahassee, Florida. I've recorded and self-released a lot of songs (more accurately, I made and gave away a few dozen CDs and tapes to my friends and the small handful of people at my shows who didn't know me and actually enjoyed my music). My songs lately (that I haven't uploaded- the most recent songs I have on here are 3 years old) have dealt mostly with frustration and powerlessness regarding the American political landscape, but I still love playing my old sillier songs. I'm very inspired by the DIY punk scene and have had more fun playing at basements shows than open mic nights. I listen to indie rock, post rock, hardcore, punk, metal, hip-hop and a small smattering of folk, classical, jazz, country and electronica so those easy power chords and out-of-tune vocals you hear have a lot of different influences and a lot of heart behind them. That same heart and punk rock spirit means I'll basically play anywhere for no money if there are at least a few other people getting something out of it.
