A growing cliche in hip hop music is the artist claiming he offers a "different" sound. However, many fail to achieve this distinction in their projects. Combining elements of soul, alternative rock, and electronica, Drastik offers a unique composition that reaches beyond typical rap music. With a growing fanbase in Texas and online, Drastik pushes his fans to EXPECT diversity from new artists.
Drastik has shared the stage with performers such as Drake, Trey Songz, Wiz Khalifa, and Chiddy Bang. In 2010, Drastik was featured on several tours across the South, including a tour featuring RocNation's J.Cole, another tour sponsored by LRG Clothing, featuring Curren$y and Pac Div, and most recently the Big Sean "What U Doin" tour. Drastik was also placed on standby for SXSW and NXNE festivals in 2010.
A distinction Drastik holds over the typical hip hop act is the ability to scale his performances up or down to fit the venue or type of show he is featured on. He can rock the stage with his band, My Circle of Fire, do an acoustic set with his guitar player, or keep the crowd entertained with the usual DJ/MC stage setup. Regardless of the setup, Drastik is a dynamic performer that draws in the crowd through an unmatched stage presence and creative crowd interaction techniques.
Released in March 2010, Drastik's project with artist, Kevin Jack, entitled "Circus Mirrors," has accumulated over 6,000 downloads on HomeTeamRecords.com. Drastik plans to release his FIRST solo effort in January 2011, entitled "Something to Say," an EP he is putting together with a producer he works closely with name 2wentywon. This is the first of a series of EP's he plans to release with his team of producers.
