"Just one spark," is all It took to realize that sometimes musical direction can take many different paths.

Relatively new on the scene but far from new to the scene, Dragline brings music for a new generation. Influenced by the likes of Machinehead, 311, and the Ramones, Dragline thrusts quality lyrics forward with melodic music and are setting a new standard for Punk Metal.

Descendents of Built By Design, Marque Shultz of Pennsylvania and Todd Lyle originally from Minnesota, deemed that once that body was cold, it was time to resurrect a new band. But not just any band. A four piece band with one synchronized goal and one common attitude; to bring their style of Punk Metal to the masses.

Marque, former lead guitarist turned to rhythm guitar and lead vocalist fronts the band with his crisp vocal styling and tight rhythm guitar playing, while Todd keeps the band grounded with first-class timing and an immense passion on drums.

Once Marque and Todd agreed on the direction of the band, the Dragline mold began hardening. But there were still gaps to fill. The search began in completing the lineup by concurrently seeking a bass player and a lead guitarist. Dragline listed a local ad looking for just the right players for the job.

In stepped Chris Contrabasso a transplant recently from New York City. Chris played bass for Animal Stock Exchange prior to stepping in and stepping up in Dragline. Once initiated into the band, the weekly practice schedule was set while patiently seeking the final peg to fit the hole.

After auditioning several different guitarists and playing a smaller version of the Gong Show, Jonathon East eased Dragline's mind by walking in with strong riffs, and a like minded attitude. Jon meticulously rips through the wall of sound to deliver his dynamic lead guitar playing to his hometown of Tampa Florida.

And with just one spark, the Dragline lineup was completed. By adhering to a steady practice schedule and having four determined players walking the same path, Dragline rises above the rest.

Dragline is currently fine tuning their long awaited EP of which when released they will be supporting with a summer tour before they get back into the studio for their first full length album.
