Members: Dan Pechacek
DSF began in a bedroom in Norman, Oklahoma in the summer of 2005. The name encapsulates a project based around songs written on an acoustic guitar at the foot of a bed, songs about everyday relationships between people, songs both universally relatable and personally meaningful. In five years, Dan Pechacek has played with a few different people, recorded a lot of songs, and made connections with countless friends and fans across the country. The latest DSF album, Summer Night Winter Night, was recorded at Channel Something Studios in Norman and released in spring of 2009. The sound is bigger than before, yet still with the restraint and personability DSF has become known for. Ben See (The Forever Years, The Little Engine that Could) joined for the album, as well as the previous album, Honestly, and live shows surrounding the two, contributing drums, bass, keyboard, bellset, programming, and some added guitar for when there just wasn't quite enough. At the same time, Dan began playing solo shows as he attended Michigan State University, using loop pedals to create a unique experience in a campus full of guys with acoustic guitars. He's shared bills with Craig Morgan, Person L, John Nolan, Brian Bonz, Breathe Owl Breathe, Chase Kerby of The City Lives, and innumerable others. From a review by Matt Radick (Save Our Scene, Fusion Shows): "A lot of times I'll watch solo artists play and think they need to have a backing band, but I can't even imagine it with Dan. His lyrics were strong and passionate and you could tell that the music was very personal. Dan was something refreshingly unique and talented and deserves your attention." Currently, Dan is centered in East Lansing, Michigan, where's he's writing songs for the next DSF album and gearing up for summer tours through the Midwest and down the east coast.

Dan, you make me rediculously happy with this music of yours. I love being able to completely love every song a band/artist creates, and the fact that you\'re my friend in actuality makes it that much better. Keep it up, my friend Mar 17

Dan, Yay I get to be a fan!! First fan, no less. How exciting! Hm, what to say. Commenting two places is kind of neat but kind of odd, in a weird way. Oh, thanks for Charcoal Eyes on here!! This is what happened: I saw Charcoal Eyes on here, clicked the download button, and then danced around for a minute or two [not kidding] because that\'s how excited I was. I just thought you should know. What else to say...this is a picture of my little sister, she\'s seven. Just incase you were curious as to why that wasn\'t me. I burned all my downloads of yours onto a CD yesterday; I hope that\'s alright. My Uncle is in town and I wanted to show him some of your schtuff since he and I have very similar music tastes. Um, I think that\'s enough now, haha. Hope you\'re well! Violovin, Sav [Your wife] Dec 28

So yeah, uh, if I knew how to actually become a \"fan\" on here I would...but I\'m not sure how. Oh well. If you know, let me know and I will...haha. I miss \"Charcoal Eyes\" just so you know. heh.
