After a serious accident left Michael Brouillet (lead vocals) unable to speak for over 6 weeks and facing a possible throat surgery, he realized his music and life needed to take a more purposeful direction. In this period of silent retrospection, he was filled with the frustration to create. After recovering, Brouillet combined his vocal and keyboard talents with G-Smiles funk guitar, BJs beats, and Fernandos slap-happy bass to form Dog Men Poets.

Often compared as "Red Hot Chili Peppers meets Stevie Wonder with a G-Love flavor," Dog Men Poets have continued to create meaningful music. The band's upbeat vibe is an eclectic mix of old school flavor and youthful enthusiasm.
