THE TAKEOVER VOL 1
blog post
One of Torontos premier DJs and the official DJ for the infamous Code Blue Crew, DJ Trambo, takes the mixtape game to the next level with "The Takeover Vol.1"- a hot mix of reggaeton and hip-hop that features some of the Latin urban worlds biggest names. Flawlessly mixing from one anthem to the next, "The Takeover Vol.1" includes some of todays deadliest dance floor jams from artists like Daddy Yankee, Ivy Queen, Hector El Father, Don Omar, Voltio, Code Blue, Snoop, The Game, 50 Cent as well as several exclusive mixes of todays hottest joints. DJ Trambo, the man behind the decks, spoke to LatinUrban.ca about his most ambitious mix to date.
"This is the first mixtape that we actually published this big, some of the other ones were just for the fun of it - but this is the first big one that weve done."
"Its not your regular mixtape because weve actually gone to the studio to record with Code Blue William Dinero and Most so it has some of the biggest tracks weve ever put out. The final product, we mixed it up with Hip-Hop and Reggaeton. This is actually my first time doing reggaeton, to be honest with you, my background is with Hip-Hop. Thats why you see a lot of remixes done with Hip-Hop."
Anyone who has listened to the mix or seen Trambo rock the decks at the clubs, will be shocked to hear that hes never put out a Reggaeton mix. Each track is mixed impeccably, making anyone believe Trambo is a veteran of the Reggaeton game. Obviously his history mixing Hip-hop helped. "Reggaeton has similar beats to Hip-hop, so it was easy for me to be mix back and forth from reggaeton to Hip-hop."
As the official DJ for Torontos Code Blue, Trambo had the opportunity to take his show on the road with the crew. DJ Trambo recently returned from a trip to New York, where he witnessed the popularity of Code Blue first hand. "Ive done a few other shows in the states before but this was the first trip as the official DJ of Code Blue."
"We just came back from New York, we were hanging out with a bunch of new artist down at the Latin Rap Conference. Boy Wonder opened his doors and was very nice to us. We performed last Monday and it was a big success. Everybody that heard Code Blue out in Cali last year was there this year with CDs looking for autographs. You can see that Canadas Latin urban scene is big all over."
Big things are happening for our man DJ Trambo his mixtape "The Takeover Vol.1" is proof of his skills on the tables and like anybody whos heard Volume 1, we want to know when Volume 2 will be hitting the streets.
"The next one is coming out, were going to take our time with it, Id say 3 or 4 months. Im on my way back to the states to work with some American artists, so its going to be Rap, Hip-Hop and Reggaeton."
Keep an eye out for "The Takeover Vol.1" out on the streets now.
