Darkness fell outside the window-pane glass
And I fell into a dreamless sleep
It was a quiet sleep then, but screams
Echoed like laughter, but manical
I cried out, but I screamed only with my dream
Which laughed at me
And scooped me up to join its fear
I became lost, but there was nothing to find
No signposts, or roads, or back alley-ways
Just the day, and no more screams
I fell down, pushed by an undead force
That clung with skeletal arms
I writhed in pain, and my flesh was torn away
And I became like them.
But still it was only a dream, and I awoke
But never the same again.
