CHECK US OUT ON TOUR COMING THROUGH YOUR TOWN SOON
Our Story:
In a small Suburbia that is Berlin, NJ four kids with a passion for music formed a band named Acheron. These four kids included Phil Kohler, Mike Peters, Marc Talucci, and Rich Croce, all from Eastern High School in Voorhees, New Jersey...Their tastes ranged from Rock to Death Metal, Classical to Hardcore with a touch of emo along the lines of "Emery"... Any kind of powerful, emotional, spine-tingling music that can really dissolve through your skin and affect you in some kind of way...
The lineup changed when Mike left leaving a spot open for another guitarist. Chris Dambly, another friend who had approached the band on the open position, took over rythem for a while. Acheron was short-lived but it nonetheless fueled everyones passion to explore their skills and write music that they could truly appreciate. Everyone in the band soon graduated high school and Chris had plans to attend college and move to Philadelphia. A break was taken for everyone to find new influences, new perspectives and hone their skills playing the music that they really wanted to play...
With a 2nd guitarist position open yet again, Phil asked his friend, Kevin Thiel, from work to join. In early 2007 Kevin came to some practices and soon ended up as the bands new permanent guitarist. In the middle of the winter the 'Group' received a reply to a VOCALIST NEEDED AD. Greg DeMarchi lived twenty minutes away in Barrington, NJ. He had been in several bands before with experience screaming as well as playing guitar. A practice was soon arranged via internet and needless to say Greg impressed. With Greg came a bit of a surprise. The new (and first) frontman, brought John Hawkins to that first fateful meeting and was introduced as Greg's brother. Possessing a very unique and characteristic scream John soon found his place in the band.
Something was taking shape...with the new lineup, Divide The Sky was born. With some fresh and ambitious faces, the group began writing songs, playing shows, designing shirts and devoting their time and money to a cause they all felt in their hearts was what they were meant to do.
As a sound began to form, Marc, a relatively new drummer could not keep up with the needs of Divide the Sky in the recording studio. Phil's childhood friend Jesse Crawford was ready to fill the need. He flew up from his home in Tennessee and quickly caught on. An EP was finally becoming a reality.
Soon after the recording of the new album, bassist, Rich Croce decided his style of play would be better suited in another band. Divide the Sky sincerely wishes him the best in all of his future endeavors, and would also like to introduce Drew Mazer to the band as the new bassist for the tour, and the future.
"We are very appreciative that people are
actually out their listening to our music."
