Disillusion is a band that isn't satisfied with living out the illusions the world offers. Instead they promote a message of truth through their music, which is best described as hard rock.
The last few years have been a building process for Disillusion. What had originally started as a high school project become a band dedicated to delivering a message through music, high energy shows, and interaction with their fans.
Disillusion began taking shape in 2003 when lead vocalist Steve Elias entered the band. Having a variety of musical experiences, he joined Disillusion shortly after playing drums for a hard rock band in Texas. Disillusion members Craig Froese, Darren Froese, and Derek Wiebe were quick to welcome him with open arms.
Writing and shaping new songs soon followed. Much of the next year was spent rehearsing and improving on song writing. The hard work payed off and Disillusion managed to find a good number of gigs over the year. They were also blessed when drummer Cory Nedohin entered the band, replacing their previous long time drummer who had decided to move on.
In early 2005 Disillusion played with former Tooth and Nail Records band The Undecided, which connected them with producer John Paul Peters. The band entered the High North Records studio in late summer of 2005 with John Paul, and recorded a three song EP.
Since the recording, Disillusion has had opportunities to play larger events. Recent highlights include playing with Canadian bands Eyewitness, Manic Drive and Stereotrap. They have also recently opened for American artists Decyfer Down and Seventh Day Slumber.
Disillusions goal is to talk about the difficult issues that people face and let them know that there is a hope for them. The hope this band has found comes only from Jesus Christ, which Disillusion hopes to share with everyone listening.
