Dire need is a "hardcore" Christian band hailing from southwestern Missouri. Our music is fully dedicated to the glorification of our savior Jesus Christ, and the difference he has made in our lives.We seek to become the community of fully devoted Christ followers we are called to be. God has impacted each of us in such a profound way, we must not haste our praise. Our mission stands not to mention just a diety, but outwardly proclaim Christ's name, bodily death, and resurection. Christ died for our sins...Now let us die to ourselves.
Dire need was formed in the ashes of two Springfield hardcore bands. The first of which was TSU. The band included Jason, Scott, Justin, and Aaron. TSU's roots were not firmly planted, and the band soon fell apart. The summer was wasted, and the members grew apart. Learning from their past mistakes they formed another band named Purge the Evil. But Jason and Scott were the only original members returning for the sequel. They recruited Chris, and Josh, and began practicing together. The band played a few shows but never really went anywhere as a band. As the seasons came and went, once again schedules changed, as well as feelings, and Purge was laid to rest. After a yearlong hiatus, Scott and Jason began writing songs together, and preparing themselves for what would later be the forming of a new band. They began recording the vocal and guitar tracks while searching for a drummer and bass player. In early 2005, Justin joined the family once again, and thus Dire Need was born. God blessed us with Chris after a very long period without a bass player, and the band was complete. Dire Need seeks to share with others the joy that Christ can bring in their lives. And the truth that Christ died for our sins, so that we could live. We as brothers and sisters in Christ must take up our cross and carry it...Leaving the world behind. That same world we live in is in need of a revival, we must lead others to Christ. Making our every move in his name. Worshiping him in our thoughts, our hearts, our bodies, and in the music we play.
