Alternative / Funk / Rock
After several years of experience in other local bands, Michele, the guitarist, Iacopo, the bass player and Marcello, the drummer, came together in a new project: Deus Funk. In February 2002 the group is completed with the arrival of the singer, Antonio. United by the same passion for the funk, the Deus Funk (the name has been chosen in order to recall the divine style of the funk) began their path just after ten days from the meeting, in a local Contest, achieving the second place. After some summer gigs, the group started to compose the first tracks, that were presented at the Faenza Rock Festival in the 2003, carrying the band to the final. These tracks were then included in the first self- produced demo. At the following edition of the Faenza Rock Festival (2004) the band was again between the finalists, classifying as third in the competition and even more, obtaining an offer for playing few days later at the Heineken Jamminâ Festival. In the 2005 the group took a break from the live scene, but proceeding with the composition and the elaboration of new tracks. The return on the scene was one year later, at the Faenza Rock Festival 2006 (edition that celebrate the 50 years of rock in Faenza) where the band was second-classified. The recording of the first studio album (The Line Between) was followed by the participation at the tenth edition of the M.E.I. (Meeting of Independent Labels) in November 2006. The event involved 300 other artists, playing in the Showcase. Few months later Marcello left the band due to personal reasons and after several auditions Vincenzo became the new drummer. In November 2008 the awaited album The Line Between, published by UK Division Records, will be finally in the stores across the world, distributed by Andromeda and Code 7 via PHD while the band keep composing tracks.
