In The Eyes Of Tragedy - review on AsIce.net

Whether you're in Australia, The US or Italy, Sweden has left its mark on every local metal scene out there. Desire Before Death from the Italian city Modena is influenced by bands like Unearth and Heaven Shall Burn, as stated on their MySpace, which is a quite accurate description. So it's like a second generation band who gets inspired by already recycled tunes. Of course, this scene is killing itself already with all those countless copies. But these Itallians seem to get to the essence of Gothenburg-inspired metalcore and left out all the fancy rubbish. This pays off. No cheesy clean sung choruses, no endless crappy moshparts. It's not very spectacular, but at least it got the balls metal needs. It's also played very tight, which reminds me of Lamb Of God. Especially the last song on this mcd, Every Motion has this LOG-feel. The solo at the end of the song is really cool, breathing the vibe of the first Machine Head record. To summarize, it's quite ok. Nothing more, nothing less. Vote: 3.5/5
