Out of the little "big city" of Anchorage, Alaska emerges a five piece hardcore rock/metal band named Dekcuf. Fronted by Nate Plummer, Dekcuf is comprised of members Matt Dumlao and Jeremy Kimball on guitar, Christian Woods on bass and Chris Von Kemmen on drums. Ever-growing in numbers, the fans seem drawn to the new, different and yet familiar sound that Dekcuf brings to every show. From the hard, pounding beats and blistering guitar riffs of "Off the Walls" to the slower, more heartfelt sound and moving vocals offered in "Angels", this band never fails to showcase their musical talent and demonstrate their appeal which is influenced by bands ranging in genre from punk to classic rock, hip hop to today's hardcore metal and more. In Nates own words, "I want the crowd to stand up and throw themselves into our show. Whether its raging in front of the stage or singing at the top of their lungs with me, it's the crowd that makes this all worth it!"
Dekcuf has plans of going back in the studio to record their sophomore album which will be released in early 2007 followed by their very first west coast CD release tour. They have won several Battle of the Band competitions in and around their hometown of Anchorage, AK. Dekcuf has shared the stage with national acts such as Adema, 12 Tribes and 36 Crazyfists who are also originally from the great white North. Front man, Plummer says it himself, "We are very lucky to live in a city where the music scene is really starting to get noticed and appreciated for all the talent it has to offer. We're here to show the industry what we've got, work as hard as we can and ride this thing until the wheels fall off!"
With plans of hitting the road, winning battle after battle and a new album on the way, keep an eye out for the fresh sound of Dekcuf. Ernie Ball Battle of The Bands Judge, Christina Ahadi adds, "Dekcuf's amazing stage presence clearly emulates today's hard rock metal bringing you an amazing high energy performance and sound that leaves you wanting more."
