BIO

For years, North Carolina has enjoyed the sounds of euro-metal and emocore in their scene. Yet four veterans sought to shed their metal roots and bring a new flavor to the table. Vocalist Paul Genet (AZAZEL, ARIA) and drummer Jeremy Stowers (AZAZEL, END OF ALL, KILLWHITNEYDEAD) recruited bassist Josh Mclaughlin (OUTRUN THE STORM) and guitarist Chris Sheets (SENECA) for a new project they were starting. No one was a stranger to touring, as the members' previous bands have served as support for heavy hitters such as Blood Has Been Shed and 7 Angels 7 Plagues.

Beginning in the summer of 2004, DEATHBLOW's aim has been to bring fun, no-frills, NY influenced hardcore to the Tar Heel state. Citing influences such as Sepultura, Hatebreed, Harvest, Indecision, Buried Alive, Strife, and 108, the band has been storming up and down the east coast, bringing the mosh to each city, and laying waste to all they encounter. Old school two-step melodies that take cues from Youth of Today and Warzone complement their Kerry King/Dimebag Darrell machine gun riffing.

Having already shared the stage with Hatebreed, Stretch Armstrong, Hearts Over Rome, Kill Whitney Dead, Throwdown, Age of Ruin, Remembering Never, Since The Flood, Agony Scene, Glass Casket, Sinai Beach, From a Second Story Window, Terror, Into The Moat, Acacia Strain, The Red Death, Love is Red, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Esoteric, Black My Heart, and Undying. Deathblow is indeed a force to be reckoned with. Look for them on tour with XReign of TerrorX and In This Defiance in April and check out their debut EP out on Closed Casket Activities. Get ready.
