Dear Tonight is a 5-piece band from Brooklyn, NY. They provide a combination of raw energy, crafted musical arrangements and radical political/personal thought. DT continues to deliver emotion and passion so visceral that it startles.
The hardcore and punk music scene has become overwhelmingly plastic, stale and repetitive. Rather than being used as a space to explore and push the bounds musically and politically, it's become just a stepping stone to TRL, arena rock and IPod commercials. Ryan, Pete, Randy, Dan and Marc of Dear Tonight are five friends who have formed a band to express their thoughts, passions, questions, and creations. The punk/hardcore scene can still be a place where folks of all ages come together and find common space to create, think, and act outside and against the hegemony of corporate rock and right-wing politics. With this goal, they continue to write great music, compelling lyrics and have fun.
DT's debut CDEP: "These Are Wires" has received great reviews from independent punk and hardcore zines and sites internationally - available at Dark City Records and at Slave Union Records
Material also appears on several US and European comps. They will be entering the studio in January 2007 to record their upcoming full-length, "We're Not Men" on Red Leader Records.

**Europe Tour w/Boysetsfire & The Blackout Argument:
We're incredibly excited to announce our upcoming European tour with good friends BOYSETSFIRE and Germany's The Blackout Argument. Josh, one of Boysetsfire's guitarists, is on the path to recovery from his injury last year so they decided to head out to Europe for a farewell tour. We will be playing 8 shows together in mid-May. For our friends in Europe, hopefully we'll be playing near you and see you there:

**New track from "We're Not Men" available online NOW and album update:
As if the tour wasn't exciting enough, we are also fucking stoked to say that we have finished mastering and artwork for our new full-length "We're Not Men". "We're Not Men" is due out on Red Leader Records in the States this summer and ready in Europe for tour. We've posted a new song from the album on myspace (myspace.com/deartonight) and purevolume (purevolume.com/deartonight). The track is called "You Have Too Much Faith In Us". Though it's one of twelve songs on the record, it should give a taste of the feel and direction of the record. Check it out, let us know what you think and tell all your friends!

A quick update from the Dear Tonight front...

In January, we spent two weeks in a big ole warehouse in DUMBO (in Brooklyn), working hard on our upcoming full-length - "We're Not Men" - to be released by Red Leader Records. We had a lot of fun, a few overnighters, tons of coffee, and with the help of Dean, Jones and Leroy (the resident ferocious bulldog mascot) at Atomic Studios, we put together a record that we're incredibly excited and happy about. Really, we are all quite ecstatic to have put these songs down and are blown away with how they've turned out...and we can't wait for you to hear it! It's currently getting mastered, art work is being finalized and we hope to have it out early this summer!

ey all, a quick bit of bad news: i (ryan) am unexpectedly going to be out of the country from late friday night (the 16th) - tues feb 27th, which means we will be doing something all bands hate doing - cancelling shows. unfortunately, dear tonight will NOT be playing sunday 2/18 at 538 johnson with our good friends end of a year, nor will we be shooting down south the next weekend for our delaware and virginia dates.
i doubt anyone's life is ruined by this information, but i do want to briefly say i'm sincerely sorry to any/all that put in hard work setting up these shows. we were excited about all of them and i really regret having to pull out last minute like this.
dear tonight WILL be playing this friday in nyc before i leave: its hot cross' record release party and we are super psyched, so please come out and congratulate the hc dudes on a great new album (full info on our myspace page, and we will be updating the shows page here very shortly, i swear). after we play, i'm heading to bogota to get shot (seriously), hang out with gentlemen who share intimate moments with donkeys, and some other stuff i won't mention here. so if you want to cover your bases and say goodbye, that'd be probably be a good bet.
