Dead On is a hardcore/ metal band out of Lake County Illinois. Formed in the summer of 2004, the band started off as a side project of the guitarists from local band Until I Bleed Dry, Matthew Patton and Casey Darnell. The goal of the project was to play a show with Hatebreed, as they are the vocalist Eric Phillips' favorite band. So with Patton and Casey on guitars and Eric on vocals, they recruited Justin McAdams to play drums. Everything was going well until into mid-summer, Justin broke his wrist and could no longer play. So suffering this loss, the band recruited close friend Jeremy Crump to play drums, and the band started work soon after. Making slow progress throughout the year and still lacking a bass player, the band asked Jeff Geisser if he would be interested in playing bass, and he joined, making the band complete in the winter of 2004. The band also managed to land a spot on the roster of a Hatebreed show on one of the side stages at The Rave in Milwaukee, playing with such bands as Hatebreed, Agnostic Front, Love is Red, and Diecast. The show went very well, and the band decided to continue on. With one more lineup change, Casey resigned his position as guitarist, and bassist from Until I Bleed Dry Matthew Siebert filled in his position. The band continues to play shows throughout the Illinois and Wisconsin area, and recently recorded a 3 song demo with Jared Logan, former drummer of 7 angels 7 plagues. The band has a solid fan base and their popularity continues to grow.
