O Monk Fire era uma banda paulista existente desde 2005. no inicio com muita influência de funk da década de 70 e punk rock o grupo paulista apostava em rimas e levadas de funk-rock lembrando muito a banda californiana "red hot chili peppers".
Após conflitos de integrantes e inconstantes mudanças de formação a banda parou suas atividades em março de 2006. Voltando a atuar com nova formação em fevereiro de 2007, Skulla(vocal) e Jorjo(guitarra) queriam experimentar e trabalhar com sons mais intensos como o metal, fazendo assim do Monk Fire uma banda que mistura new-metal, indie, funk, trash, punk rock entre outras coisas.No inicio de 2010 novamente conflitos entre os membros geraram o fim da Monk fire dando inicio a nova banda Dead Monk, que além de uma sequencia do trabalho é uma releitura de tudo que foi feito desde 2005.
