LAST SHOW / BREAK UP INFO
Hey guys hows it going? So as some of you may or may not have heard, we have decided to end Dead Letter Diaries. Honestly, if you had told me I would be posting this six weeks ago, I never would have beleived you. In a way, its hard to explain how we came to this decision and for what exact reasons other than saying that it just felt like the right thing to do. I can, however tell you reasons that are NOT why we made this decision, there is no drama, no fights, no music problems, none of that, we are all still good friends and this decision has nothing to do with that.

The original plan was to proceed with a name change and basically a change into a whole new genre of music, but instead, we decided to end the band. The good news is that Brandon and Cameron will be continuing on making music and starting a new project under the name Eye Alaska. Be sure to look out for that very soon. As for Jason and me, we opted not to continue with that project. Things just seem right as it comes time for us to think about our futures and there comes a time for some of us to realize that maybe we were not called to tour or make music as a profession.

We hope that you guys can understand this decision, and you have no idea how much the last three years have meant to us. We truly want to thank every single person that has showed up to a show, bought anything from us, helped us promote, booked us, bands that have played with us, loaned us equipment, given us advice, told a friend about us, or even just streamed our songs online or sent us a message. It has truly been an amazing journey and never would any of us have thought we would get to the point we are at. We are all sad to have to end the band but at the same time I could not think of a better way it could end.

We are going to be playing one last show on December 22nd with some very good friends of ours at Chain Reaction. We cant wait to get back on stage for one last time as Dead Letter Diaries and play some older and current songs, as well as give you guys a taste of what Eye Alaska will sound like. For all of you who are out of state, sorry that we wont be back or never even made it to your area, we'll be selling what CDs we have left in stock pretty cheap so look for an update on that soon as well as possibly making more music downloadable for you guys. Once again, we would like to thank everyone that has been there along the way for making Dead Letter Diaries what it was. See you guys on the 22nd!

ABOUT OUR SONGS
Our latest release is a 6 song EP released in May of 2005. We completed 4 new demo tracks in February of 2006 and two of those are posted here for your listening pleasure. "Found, Followed, and Pursued" and "167 Octa" are 2 of the 4 demos we recorded in our singer's kitchen so take a listen. In addition, we've most recently added "Divorce" and "I'm Only Alive" recorded in the summer of 2006 with Teppei Teranishi. They are our newest recordings to give you guys an idea of the more "rock" songs we have.

News: October 9, 2006 - Still Writing

As you've probably noticed we keep dissapearing. We are STILL (yeah I know its been forever) writing. We are undergoing lots of changes for the better right now. We are so anxious to start playing shows again and we cant wait to see everyone. Stay tuned for our "return" show hopefully by the end of the year. Take care, we'll be sure to try and keep everyone as updated as possible thoughout this loooooooooong process!

News: Auguse 20, 2006 - A Couple New Tunes and A Show

So summer is finally winding down and what a summer it has been. We have spent the entire summer writing and focusing our music and we will be continuing to do so for at least the next few months before we really pick up playing shows again. We have however added on show on September 3rd. We will be playing the Orange Street Fair on the Chain Reaction stage so check that out. In addition we added our two newest recordings of "Divorce" and "I'm Only Alive" and those can give you guys a rough idea of some of the more "rock" stuff we have written this summer. The songs were recorded with our good friend Teppei Teranishi, and we'd like to thank him for taking the time to record us. We hope you guys enjoy the songs and we'd love to hear feedback! Thanks again for listening!

News: July 27, 2006 - More New Songs Posted

Soooo we just heard the rough mixes of our new demos yesterday. We are SO EXCITED to get them finalized and get to share them with everyone! BUT in the mean time, we have taken down "Alder and the Accomplice Catalpa" and "The Lights we Know To Love" Off our myspace and purevolume players and have uploaded "And Let Out" and "Our Vision, the Myth" instead. These 2 songs are the last 2 songs the complete the 4 song demos w/ "Found, Followed, and Pursued" and "167 Octa." All 4 songs were recorded back in February in Brandon's kitchen (AKA "The Kitchen Demos") and are just rough recordings of some new material at the time. We HOPEFULLY will be able to post up the new demos we just recorded soon and maybe make some more songs downloadable for you guys! More to come soonnnnnnn.

News: July 22, 2006 - Demos

First off we just want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who came to the show last night. We were very surprised with the turnout and did not expect so many people to show up and stick around for our headlining set. Also, we spent a few days earlier this week rough demoing all our new songs and ended up recording 2 new songs called "Divorce" and "I'm Only Alive" (which we both played last night). The demos are being mixed right now and sounded great so far with just rough tracks. We're stoked to hear how they turn out and we will hopefully be able to post one or both up for your listening pleasure. Stay tuned for more info!
