currently hibernating - digesting experience I gathered during the warmer months.
new album this Spring
- these songs are a couple polaroids - nostalgic quick fixes until that sunny day roles in - you know, that one we were talking about?
NEW SONG
I recorded Chariot and Lament with the others, but they were never completed so I left them off the album. I'll keep it posted here for a little while ...
dim the lights ... open your heart ... enjoy

January - June 2006
Victoria was kind to me. Beautiful with her cool weather, powerful ocean and community as warm as our wool ankle warmers. I spent five months there, working in a little hole-in-the-wall cafe and sharing a small apartment with two fair-haired angels. I got to share a lot of music and was blessed with some incredible art. I received immeasurable inspirations, frustrations and transforming experience. No matter where these crazy winds blow me, some things will never be the same apart from her.

I'm in between swells at the moment. I'm having these incredible surges of inspiration and all of this beautiful junk is just rolling around inside of me ... but it doesn't seem ready to flow yet. These are frustrating times but I'll be better for it on the other side.
I feel like I'm closing a significant chapter of my life and am about to start scribbling down another. In light of that, I'm moving to Victoria in the new year to spend some time alone on the coast. I have no idea what new things will pop up or how long I'll stay but I seem to thrive in uncertainty.
see you on the other side

December 2005
During these past six months I've seen my country by the means of a tired thumb, met beautiful people, saw terrible times, re-visited the town of my birth, gained the love of a mandolin, burned memories, dreamt of beautiful things, sang sad songs to pretty girls and clapped my hands on the street corners for change.
One of these days I'll sort it all out. One of these days I'll finish an album without slapping an apologetic "demo" or "EP" on the cover. It will be a good day for which the sun will shine and sure as anything - the cycle will start right up again.
