With inspirations ranging from Kanye West to Faith No More--from Common Sense to Bleed the Dream--and from Michael Jackson to Outkast...the result is an aggressive verbal assault on what real hip-hop lyrics are supposed to sound like...individualistic, honest, and with an in your fucking face delivery!
With songs about Life, Death, Love, Lust, Music, and Religion, David touches on a number of different social, spirtual, and philosophical topics.
"A Dream...And A Plan", the debut E.P. by David Costa is being released on Skeleton Crew Records, It uses the element of storytelling as he describes with great detail the story of a fictional character refered to only in context by title as The Starving Artist.
Complete with twist ending, the songs read like a novel; and are in chronological chapter form. The Starving Artist E.P. shows that there are no boundries when it comes to writing a hip-hop album.
And the scary thing is...This is only the E.P., a short 6 song version of the full length album due out in 2007!!!!
