Wow! What a gig! I'm sorry to say it was our farewell gig but we went out with a bang.
The reason we have to say farewell is that Tommo is going to university in Wellington so the band will be unable to continue as it would be a logistical nightmare! Maybe we can do a reunion gig sometime.
Anyhow, Parachute rocked, and we added only a small amount to that rockiness, not cause our contribution was pathetic but just because there's so much rock at Parachute. Our contribution wasn't pathetic by the way, it was our best gig ever!
The highlight for me was smashing the $2 shop guitars on stage with a mallet and singing God Bless Rock and Roll for the last time with Cubed as a grand finale and Luke's screaming in Close which I've wanted to have in there for over a year now!
It was emotional in a good way and even in ending we did some things for the first time. Like smashing guitars but also like signing people's tummies. I have my own memoribilia as I got the other band members to sign a piece of broken guitar. Have an awesome 2007! We'll get some PO7 photos up asap and keep our sites up for a while yet. The February ezine will be the last one. Cya sometime!

Hey people,
As some of you might know, we went to Gisborne at the weekend at the invitation of Wainui Beach Community Church. We played at their church service at Wainui Beach School Hall on Sunday morning but before that we played a gig at the same venue on Saturday night.
The crowd was small but had an awesome attitude. I think we made their sound system go ten times as loud as they thought was possible. Never before have I seen a bunch of girls do line dancing they learned at school at one of our gigs, hehe. Though it was for a blues song so that was ok. The Banana Song went down a treat and a few CDs were sold at both the night and morning events.
Aside from playing we had heaps of fun making a documentary for their youth group. What was supposed to be a short serious interview about God things ended up being a half hour documentary involving the aforementioned down to earth interviews interspersed with beach mayhem and nativity scenes gone wrong in the same vain as Mr Bean. I'm looking for a way to get it online and I'll let you know when I manage to. It really is quite funny.

Yes it turns out that the name of the gig at the Stomach last night was indeed Fanta Quest. A fantastic tribute to a timeless soft drink.
Our set went well, and the crowd were good to us, even though we were the last band. The line between stage and floor was fine, with most punters making use of both, but we didn't mind, crowd participation is defnitely one thing we hold in high importance as a band. For our closing number (where we covered a blink 182 song) there were more people on the microphones on stage than down on the floor at times. Which I think rocks haha. So yeah it was worth it just for that. If you weren't there you missed out on fun though you probably compensated in sleep hehe.
