Hey Contra-Fans & Friends,
I have hooked us up with yet another new home, and that is *drum roll* a A MYSPACE profile! Yeah!
It was quite challenging, given my pre-Babylonian modem, however, we are hoping it's existance will open new windows.
It is in it's beggining phases, but hopefully soon it will be pimping it out, like all things Contradiction! Go check it out! NOW! www.myspace.com/contradictionza
Cool! So there you have it, see you all soon.

Hey all...
Jonathan here....
Yeah its been a while since i contributed to this site.
So here is an update on wats happening with Contradiction....
Well i am currently organizing a supa dooba show with james lawrence which will be at Liebrant van Niekerk... more details soon. Its gonna be bigger than last time, MUCH BIGGER!!!!! So while me and james (o which by the way is our manager) is trying to get gigs for the band nik has gone into hibernation with his guitar and is writing a whole lot of new material(he is complaining of wrist cramps and keeps asking for more paper and pens!!!! Jus Playin) So wath this space for more details on that. Matthew is just being himself and most likely is doing something extremly dangerous as i type this.... But im not feeling to good and niether is matthew cause the hectic last few weeks i think are catching up with all of us.
But what i really feel i need to say is:
THANK YOU SO FLIPIN MUCH TO ALL OUR FANS AND FRIEND WHO HAVE KEPT THE SPIRIT OF CONTRA_SKA ALIVE!!!!!!

Hi there All,
Just thought I'd let you know what's happening in the lives the Contradicting-threesome! Its been a really busy period for us, hence the delay in updates.
I'll pick up where I left off last time, we got our cymbal, it's sounds so awesome! It has really lifted the dimension of beats coming from Matthew in the rear.
We played the Pulse Band-fight, the show went down well in general. We drew straws, which put Contradiction 5th, and last in the bill. Everything went down awesomely, except for my footswitch, which decided at that in-opportune point in time to malfunction.
We also got a pretty good live recording, of the song which we weren't able to capture in the studio, Knife Edge. It's really got the live energy you would expect from a live recording. It should be up on the site soon. It was ironically also the only song that night in which there weren't any graphic footswitch malfunctions.
Another huge breakthrough we made at this show was the introduction of the band, to the sound legend Sean. By the way, the sound at the show was off-the-chains. He is the mixer for none other than the drunk-punk legends...HALF PRICE. From what we ascertained, he enjoyed us, and he assured us, that when he got back from the "Banned From South Africa" tour with the drunk punks, he would show our demo to them. He then stated that they would also dig us, and that he would try his best to get us to play with them! WOOHOO. That would be a dream come true for us.
We unfortunately did not make it through to the final taking place this Tuesday night, the 8th, but no matter, after the break-through we had, and all the positive feedback we received, I would just like to quote Stiff Little Fingers in saying, "Just Wait And See". Old-school punk fans will understand that one.
The following night we had the sheer privilege and honor of playing with one of the best progressive rock bands to come out of South Africa, Tonight We Die. What legends. We rolled up at five, and were scheduled to kick the party off at 6 :30pm. Fortunately, the sound check ran late, and we hit the stage at 7: 00pm. It was such a rocking set! We played in top form, and kicked the asses of everyone listening in true Contra-Ska style. We got a phat skank started and we could see that everyone was in the mood for a sick gig. We were very out of place however, as the rest of the bands were screamers. Amir from Millhouse even made a guest scream appearance for punk legends Impropriety. New Altum was rad, but the highlight of the evening was obviously Tonight We Die. Need I say more? Rad..rad gig all in all, I was so happy to have played, and played well we did!
Contradiction was also pre-occupied as of late with the CBC fashion show. I was technical director along with John. The show was awesome, hot models, hot MC (Roxy Ingram) and we were the entertainment starting and ending the show. It took up a lot of time, however we were well received, made a lot of contacts and contributed to a very successful production, we will try and get some pics up.
For now, we are hoping to take a little break, as the creative side has taken a bit of a back seat as time has become very limited, and getting our gear everywhere and forbidden hours of the night has taken it's toll on the band. We are hoping to be in production of some rad new material very soon. I must now depart however, as I have quite a lot of schoolwork to complete! Congratulations to our friends Eulogy for keeping the Parklands BOTB title in Table View, they won it on Saturday night, we were too busy to appear as the guest band, as originally requested by the organisers, because of our commitments with the fashion show that ran on the 4th & 5th of this month.
Thanks to everyone that enabled us to record, and play all our gigs of late, and to the organisers of the fashion show.
Peace everyone,
Nick

Hello All,
It's Nick here, for the first time, which is rad! Hope everyone is good,
I just tought I would give everyone a little update from my side of the band!
Production on our new material is going well, I have three new projects in
the melting pot at the moment, and they all promise to be rockers, once they're
finished! The most recent of which is the adding of lyrics to our previously instrumental
intro. Anyone who knows the intro, will know that it's going to kick ass with lyrics.
It's an agressive combination of ska, post-grunge punk and a slight metal bridge.
I'm trying a melody unlike I've ever attempted before, which should prove interesting,
and the subject material should stir some thought in anyone who hears it. It should be
hitting your ears in around a month or so.
The others are completely new, but one needs some work on the subject matter.
We're going to be trying a more reggae feel one one, especially with my new
wah pedal.
Another task, is the writing of a clean version of the new song, Sandy Is A Man-Hater.
I'm also pleased to announce that Jon is nailing the new harmony for Tenses, and it
is going to be getting those hairs at the back of your neck standing on end, as soon
as we've perfected it.
We are also, SO amped to be playing with TONIGHT WE DIE, Impropriety and New Altum,
and would like to thank the organisers tremendously. This show is going to kick so
much ass! Be very sure not miss it!
Anyway, I must be gone, I'm going to Bothners with my bro to get his new cymbal.
It's a Zildjian A-Custom 18" Projection Crash, very aggressive! It should compliment
our sound nicely. It's replacing the broken one.
Peace out,
Nick.
