When I write music, my tendency is to conceptualize the whole song and write specific parts for each instrument. As with most artists, my bread and butter comes out like an imitation of my influences: an alternative pop/rock sound epitomized on my main profile. I also do some electronic stuff.
But I'll be moving to Bordeaux, France 2 September 2008. I can only bring one instrument and a small recording device intended for spoken notation. Not ideal.
I'm going to make the most of it, and hopefully it will result in an album's worth of solo acoustic material. It'll be pretty lo-fi, so indie kids, eat your hearts out.
